What is a Count-Me-In! party?

A Count-Me-In! is a party hosted by a Grattan family. The family plans a themed party for adults or children at their home or out in the community and then offers spaces at their party for a fixed price. The cost of the party is assumed by the hosting family so that 100% of the proceeds of these fun gatherings benefits the children at Grattan!

Children Parties
Outdoor Movie Extravaganza – Friday, June 11
Tiki torches, BBQ, campfire! Spend and evening in Ben and Sam Catechi’s backyard enjoying a kid-friendly feature film. This fabulous film will be featured on our homemade silver screen! Parents are welcome but not required and will be supplied with libations appropriate for such an occasion. Limit 15 children, all grades. $25 per child. Donated by the Catechi Family
Star Wars Soiree – Saturday, June 12
Join Griffin Dionne and Milo Gard for an afternoon of pizza and passion for Star Wars. Dress as your favorite Star Wars character, bring your action figures, or your favorite Star Wars Lego creation. SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE!! Come play and snack from 11-2. Limit 20 kindergarteners. $15 per child. Donated by the Dionne and Gard Families
Playground Playdate – Saturday, August 21
Come spend an afternoon outside with your Grattan friends while your parents enjoy some time to themselves. We will play a few organized games, have a snack, and enjoy being outdoors! Meet us at Grattan Playground Park on Saturday, August 21st for a few hours of fun. Parents can drop off their children at 9:00am and return to pick them up at noon. Limit 25 children, 1st-3rd graders. $15 per child. Donated by the Koulias and Thomassian/Guichard Families
First Grade Movie Night & Sleepover – Mutually agreed upon date in June
Uma Tedeski is hosting a super fantastic movie night and sleepover. The night includes pizza, fresh juice, a movie and pancake breakfast in the morning. Open to 3 first grade girls. $45 per child. Donated by the Jimenez Family

St. Lucia Celebration – Sunday, December 12
Come learn about, celebrate, and share a wonderful Swedish tradition with Bridget Martin & Lilo Bergensten-Oliv on December 12th. The children will create their own Lucia crowns (with candles to keep!), dress up in Lucia gowns, hear the story, and listen to the music. They will also enjoy baking ginger cookies, lusse bread, and meatballs. Everyone will enjoy tasting “Jul Must”…a traditional children’s soda! Limit 12 children, kindergarten and up. $25 per child. Adult Parties
K-Moms’ Book Night – Thursday, May 20
Join Elin Cohen, Maryanne Israel, and Sue Lyon for an evening of Kindergarten moms socializing over wine, cheese and dessert. Bring one or two books you enjoyed but are ready to pass on in exchange for a new book. The evening will take place Thursday, May 20th from 7:30-9:30 at the Cohens’ home in Cole Valley. Chinese Dumpling Party – Saturday, May 22
Come expand your cooking knowledge and skill and learn how to make delicious and authentic Chinese Dumplings (a.k.a. Potstickers). When the veggie and ground turkey dumplings are ready to eat, we will feast on them and some additional Chinese sides. Non-alcoholic drinks and wine will be provided. Join Hedy Chang at her home on May 22 from 5:30-8:30 (kids are welcome). Limit 25 people. $15 per person. Donated by Hedy Chang
Mom’s Clothing Swap & Brunch – Sunday, October 3
Are you tired of walking into your closet and seeing the same things hanging there? Well, pack up a bag or two and head over to a brunch with Kris Ahn-Koulias from 11am until 2pm! Moms can enjoy a delicious champagne brunch and come home with some fun, new clothes without spending a fortune! Limit 12 women. $35 per person. Donated by Kris Ahn-Koulias
Card Making Party at Paper Source on Chestnut – Fall Date TBD
Are you planning a birthday party for your child? Or perhaps a baby shower to host? Are you throwing a Halloween party this year? Or do you hope to add a personal touch to this year’s holiday card? Whatever the occasion, sending a handmade invitation or card is such a sweet and thoughtful touch to add to any special occasion. Guests will walk away with tons of creative ideas, and they will also receive 10% off any items purchased that day!
